The Federal Bureau of Investigation was at its begging stages during this Era. It is possible that Prohibition indirectly helped an organization such as this one get started. Private investigators with the same ideals as this bureau played a vital role in the capturing of bootleggers and other organized crime affiliated criminals. With the rising of crime from the organized gangs that participated in illicit activities, the people began to fear and did not know who they could trust. Due to this corrupt influence from Prohibition, organized law enforcement groups began to grow. The Federal Bureau of Prohibition was the start to the organization we have today called the FBI.

Organizations formed to repeal the 18th Amendment almost immediately after it was ratified. There were more people fighting to bring back liquor than those who were fighting to keep it illegal. In addition to this, the beginning of the Great Depression changed the opinions of many. Because of these reasons, the 21st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution was ratified on December 5, 1933. This Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment, making alcohol legal once again. This was the first and only time an Amendment has been repealed in U.S. history.
